Follow-First Auto DM: Grow Your Instagram Followers With Every Comment

A normal auto DM sends the link immediately. A follow-first auto DM adds one smart step: it asks the person to follow your account before they receive the resource.

How the flow works

1. You post a reel with a valuable resource.
2. You say: "Comment GUIDE and I'll send it."
3. Someone comments GUIDE.
4. Orange Flow sends a friendly DM: "Follow us first, then tap here to get your guide."
5. After the follow step, the link is delivered.

The viewer gets what they wanted, and you gain a follower who already likes your content.

Why it works

• Fair exchange: you give something useful, they give a follow.
• Warm audience: these followers actively asked for your content.
• Compounding growth: every reel with a resource can add followers.
• Higher engagement: comments push your reel, followers see your future posts.

Best practices

• Offer something truly valuable, not a vague teaser.
• Keep the DM short and friendly.
• Explain why they should follow ("I share a new template every week").
• Deliver what you promised, every time.

Example scripts

"Comment SIP and I'll send you my free SIP starter sheet."

"Comment EDIT and I'll DM my 10 video editing presets."
